Launching Westfield Stratford City in Style
Hollywood Monster partnered with Westfield to deliver the full graphics and signage programme for the launch of Westfield Stratford City, the UK’s largest urban shopping centre at 2 million sq ft. Building on our success at Westfield London, we joined during early construction and stayed through launch, turning a live build into a fully branded destination that could open with impact and confidence.
The Westfield team wanted us to replicate and scale the quality of the Westfield London launch for a larger, more complex site. Deliver high‑impact branding, retail dressings, hoardings and wayfinding across the estate while protecting building warranties, working safely around live construction, and meeting fixed launch deadlines.

Overcoming Challenges
Scale was the defining challenge. We engineered giant structures up to 140 m by 35 m and produced a single building banner of 3,400 sq m with a gross weight of 1.3 tonnes. Bracing back into the façade was not permitted due to warranty constraints, so we designed a counterweight approach that used 30 concrete blocks craned onto the roof to create a safe, non‑invasive fixing system. The result combined creative problem solving with robust structural calculations, wind‑load assessments and quality-assured fabrication.

We embedded a project team on site for 18 months, coordinating with Westfield’s construction and marketing teams and a network of structural and fabrication partners. The programme covered external hoardings, internal hoardings, shopfront dressings for not‑yet‑occupied units, car park and pedestrian wayfinding, and permanent signage.
When security logistics changed overnight due to G4S’s collapse, our team adapted quickly, working within army-controlled access protocols to keep the project on track.
